    The mitigations put in place have resolved the issue, and no more users have hit the sad path.

    Our on call engineers have identified a key property we were incorrectly deserializing, and we're deploying a fix now. There may be an additional, less frequent, issue and we're continuing to monitor.

    A few users attempting to register and sign in over the last couple hours have failed, due to our backend improperly handling an unexpected response from the GitHub APIs. We are monitoring closely for further failures to further correct the issue.
